Château de Chaumont sur Loire (9km)

The 32-hectare Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire comprises a 15th-century château, stables and a much-appreciated park. In addition to the annual Festival International des Jardins, there are fascinating evening tours of this historic park. Not to be outdone, the richly decorated interiors of the apartments immerse visitors in the prestige of royal and aristocratic life. A particularly well-maintained château, blending Gothic and Renaissance architecture, antique decor and contemporary art. A must-see during your B&B stay near the Loire castles.

Montrichard fortress (10 km)

The medieval town of Montrichard takes us right back to the 11th century. Alongside its timber-framed houses and troglodytic dwellings, the identity of this town on the banks of the Cher river lies in its fortress, which houses an archaeology museum as well as an imposing keep. It’s well worth the climb up the hill to enjoy the splendid view over the valley! Montrichard is rooted in the past, but also looks to the present, with a particularly interesting 3D tour.

Chenonceau Castle (20 km)

A jewel of the Renaissance and a World Heritage site, Chenonceau is one of the must-see Loire castles near our bed & breakfast. It owes its incomparable cachet to its arches spanning the Cher River. We also love its elegant flower-filled gardens, which are truly enchanting! In this ” château des Dames “, everything bears the mark of the rivalry between Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Médicis, a piece of history that gave rise to what is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Royal Château of Amboise (25 km)

Emblematic of the Loire Valley, the Château d’Amboise stands proudly on the banks of the river. A superb panorama can be seen from its summit. The view alone makes this a not-to-be-missed visit! But the monument itself is also of rare importance in our history, as it was a royal dwelling and home to the French court during the Renaissance. There are many interesting features, from the mark left by François I to the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci, to the park serving as a bird sanctuary.

Château du Clos Lucé (25 km)

Clos Lucé, a neighbor of the Château Royal, is also located in the commune of Amboise. It owes its great renown to the stay of Leonardo da Vinci, who lived there until his death, and whose workshop can be admired. The inventor’s creations are dotted around the gardens, making for a highly original and entertaining visit, complemented by a charming chateau of tufa stone and pink brick.

Château de Cheverny (25 km)

The first thing you notice when you arrive in Cheverny is the château’s facade. Think you’ve seen it somewhere? Nothing could be further from the truth, as this is the building that inspired Hergé to create the Château de Moulinsart in Tintin! But there’s more to Cheverny than meets the eye. Strolling through the apartments, you’re struck by the beauty of the furnishings. The château is complemented by six themed gardens and a wooded park where you can take a ride in an electric boat. You’ll be charmed by this magnificent place to visit during your B&B vacation in the heart of the Loire castles.

Royal Château of Blois (25 km)

Right in the heart of the town of Blois, the imposing château is synonymous with a journey through time, with over a thousand years of history in its own right. Its singular architecture symbolizes its longevity, having seen seven kings and ten queens of France pass through its doors, and was, among other things, the place where Catherine de Médicis died. Despite its rich past, the Château de Blois offers a very modern experience, with an escape game and a sound and light show.

Château Gaillard royal estate (22 km)

With its very Italian style, Château Gaillard offers an original visit to Amboise, where it coexists with other magnificent châteaux. Dating from the very end of the 15th century, during the reign of Charles VIII, it was the first in France to feature Renaissance-style gardens, as well as orange trees. Highly prized by François Iᵉʳ, it hosted his grandson’s honeymoon with Mary Stuart. The so-called “orange palace” still retains its charm!
