The historic park surrounding the château is well worth a stroll, not least to admire its remarkable trees. Then head for the banks of the Cher to visit the medieval town of Montrichard. Stroll through the cobbled streets, admire the timber-framed houses, the keep and the town’s fortresses. For a refreshing break, stop off at the Parc Plage de Montrichard, a large sandy beach where swimming is supervised in summer.

Last but not least, Montrésor is one of France’ s ” most beautiful villages “. Crossed by the Indrois river, this charming commune is home to the richly furnished Château de Montrésor and the Cardeux market hall, which bears witness to the importance of textile activity in the town until the XIXᵉ century.

Cycle through the Cher valley on the ” Coeur de France à vélo ” greenway, a secondary cycle route to the famous ” Loire à vélo “. Pedal the 18 km round trip between Montrichard and Chenonceau to admire the sublime scenery. And if you want to explore the beautiful Montrichard forest, there’s a 12 km mountain bike loop starting from the patte d’oie parking lot. And don’t miss a walk through the Pontlevoy regional geological nature reserve. This protected area is home to two former quarries. Follow the interpretation trail for a pleasant family stroll and a trip back in time.

Located 4 km from our B&B in the Centre Val de Loire region, the Moreau cheese dairy offers traditional goat cheeses made on site, including its 2 flagship products: Sainte-Maure de Touraine and Selles sur Cher. The cheese dairy opens its doors every Thursday during the summer season. It’s a great opportunity to watch the cheese being made, and to taste the delicious cheeses. What’s more, take a stroll through the Pontlevoy market (Thursday mornings) or the Montrichard market (Mondays and Fridays) to meet local producers and sample the flavours of the region (wines, cheeses, honey, jams, etc.).
